Brandy and Rita Ora Set to Return for ‘Descendants: Wicked Wonderland’

The timelines of Descendants: The Rise of Red are on a collision course once more with the film’s returning stars. Both Brandy and Rita Ora are set to return as Cinderella and the Queen of Hearts, respectively.

Furthermore, Disney+ and Disney Channel have also officially announced the title for the sequel: Descendants: Wicked Wonderland.

This announcement comes three months after Descendants: Wicked Wonderland was officially in development, with the film’s younger cast of Descendants delinquents also being revealed.

In addition, Paolo Montalban will be returning as Prince Charming. Melanie Paxson will return as Fairy Godmother, making her the only actor to appear in all five Descendants films.

They will be joined by returning Descendants: The Rise of Red stars Kylie Cantrall, Malia Baker, and Leonardo Nam. Additionally, Liamani Segura, Brendon Tremblay, Alexandro Byrd, Kiara Romero, Joel Oulette, Zavien Garret, Ryan McEwen, and Dayton Paradis also star.

Descendants: Wicked Wonderland will see Red and Chloe trying to make sense of the new reality they find themselves in following their time-traveling adventures. With new allies and dangers in this present-day Wonderland, this film begs to answer what happens if you mess with time.

The end of Descendants: The Rise of Red saw both Red and Chloe finding themselves in a new timeline where the Queen of Hearts didn’t turn so evil.

However, the music video follow-up, Shuffle of Love: A Descendants Short Story, teased that the Queen is destined to become the wicked ruler everyone knows her as. 

“[Descendants: Wicked Wonderland] will build on that legacy and deliver even more of the magic, music, and heart that make Descendants so special — brought to life by an amazing cast and creative team who continue to elevate this world in new and exciting ways,” Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Television, previously said.

Kimmy Gatewood (The Baby-sitter’s Club, Girls5eva) is set to direct, with a script by co-executive producer Tamara Chestna (Sneakerella) and Dan Frey and Ru Sommer (Descendants: The Rise of Red).

Returning to the franchise are executive producers Suzanne Todd and Gary Marsh. Gatewood also serves as a co-producer. Emilio Dosal (Sneakerella) will choreograph the film with brand-new music and dance sequences as well.

Descendants: Wicked Wonderland is set to release in 2026. Descendants: The Rise of Red is currently streaming on Disney+.
