Prime Target Season 1 Episode 7: Prime Finder
Prime Target Season 1 Episode 7, “Prime Finder,” sees Taylah and Ed at the mercy of the NSA, both trying to make the best out of the situation. Meanwhile, Andrea puts together information and discovers what really happened in Baghdad.
Thank goodness for Andrea, as the show had no other way to get us information on Akram and her work colleague, James. Ed and Taylah are wrapped up with the NSA, and Jane has said that they don’t know who all is after the prime finder. So, Ed and Taylah weren’t going to be able to get answers for us anytime soon.

However, Andrea learned a lot during her time in Baghdad, and she has those suspicions swirling around in her head. It makes sense that she would continue to investigate and try to learn more about the circumstances that led to the discovery if only she didn’t tell her suspicions to James, the man running the show.
It’s hard to know what to make of James at this point. The reveal that he’s involved is not a shocking revelation because we honestly don’t know that much about him. He’s only popped up from time to time.
But the reveal also didn’t need to be anything more than us finally getting answers. There’s not any disappointment surrounding learning the truth about James; it’s more of a sigh of relief that this is one mystery (partially) solved.
Prime Target hopefully will clear up any lingering mysteries in the finale, Prime Target Season 1 Episode 8, “The Key.”

Surprisingly, it’s not incredibly boring to watch Ed work out the math.
His scenes in captivity, for lack of a better word, are captivating. We see him finally grappling with the cost of his math, something Taylah has urged him to see all season. Ed’s been insistent that the math is pure, using that to justify pursuing it, but “Prime Finder” finally sees him hesitant to work on it.
It’s a nice moment of growth for him, and proof that he has been paying attention to Taylah’s points during the many discussions they’ve had on the topic.
Taylah calling him Eduardo is a nice callback to Prime Target Season 1 Episode 6, “The Last Link,” and a great way for Ed to realize that Taylah is on his side.

With everything we have been shown of Taylah, her allegiance was never a question for us. It’s understandable why Ed is wary of her, but we’ve known that she’s always been on Ed’s side, even though it puts her at odds with Jane.
“Prime Finder” also brings back multiple tangential characters, solidifying some suspicions and unveiling some unexpected revelations.
Prime Target shows that everyone we’ve met throughout the season has a purpose. We weren’t simply following around Ed and his rather boring romance for no reason; it led to something.
While some characters’ arcs could have been handled a bit better, it is still an accomplishment that Prime Target managed to give so many seemingly side characters a bigger part to play.
