Preview — Wild Cards Season 2 Episode 1: Max and Ellis Are Back to Be One of TV’s Best Duos
Vanessa Morgan and Giacomo Giannotti are back as Max and Ellis on Wild Cards Season 2 Episode 1, “Con in 60 Seconds.”
The unlikely pair appears to take inspiration from The Fast and the Furious when they go undercover for their latest case. They may hit a few speed bumps independent of work along the way.
After all, Max — to help her father — cons Ellis on Wild Cards Season 1 Episode 10, “Romancing the Egg.” However, Max then risks everything by bringing Ellis a flash drive containing info about the identity of Ellis’s brother’s killer.

The consultant procedural drama leaves fans with that cliffhanger until “Con in 60 Seconds.” The Wild Cards Season 2 trailer shows Commissioner Russo telling Ellis she needs her “best people on this,” meaning he has to team up with Max. Despite the betrayal that Ellis must reconcile, TV’s most underrated duo is back.
This time, Ellis and Max will go undercover to discover the truth after a getaway driver is killed during a gang robbery. The investigation takes a literal turn when Max gets behind the wheel during what appears to be a street race. It’s so fitting that Max asks who has more fun than them before Ellis begs her to slow down.
“Con in 60 Seconds” premieres on Wednesday, February 5, at 8/7c on The CW. This episode will feature two of the season’s recently announced guest stars: The 100‘s Marie Avgeropoulos and WWE NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo. The photos below give a sneak peek at the latter’s character.
