Matty and Sarah go undercover on Matlock Season 1 Episode 10, “Crash Helmets On.”

Taking a page from the Netflix series A Man on the Inside, “Crash Helmets On” sees Matty and Sarah infiltrating a senior living facility to investigate a wrongful death suit. As part of their covert mission for the case, the two will pose as grandmother and granddaughter.

The setup alone promises a fun episode, but it’s also the first time viewers will see Matty and Sarah spend significant time together. The pair have had a few moments here and there throughout the season.

Moments that mainly consist of Sarah being hyper-competitive and overly blunt. This new adventure will no doubt start with that same dynamic.

Matty will almost certainly need the patience of a saint to keep Sarah in check and the mission on task. But this is also an opportunity for Matty—and viewers—to get to know Sarah a little better.

Will we finally see a softer side of Sarah? Is this the start of a new understanding between the two? Will we learn any more about Sarah’s backstory?

Elsewhere on the episode, it looks like the pen with Matty’s listening device is discovered in Julian’s office. Assuming that is the pen and not a promo misdirect, they don’t seem to know who planted the device.

Still, finding something like that would put everyone on alert. Plus, in the promo, Alfie mentions using an email address that could be traced back to them. All of which could put Matty in a pretty dangerous situation if — and it’s a big if — what we see in the promo is to be believed.
