The cast and creators of Daredevil: Born Again gathered in New York City on Monday night for the highly anticipated red carpet premiere of Marvel Television’s latest Disney+ series.

Fans and industry insiders joined the event, celebrating Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk’s return to the small screen. Attendees were treated to an exclusive screening of the first two episodes ahead of their official release next week on March 4 at 6 p.m. PT.

Cast members Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Margarita Levieva, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Ayelet Zurer, Wilson Bethel, Zabryna Guevara, Nikki James, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, Michael Gandolfini, and Mohan Kapur walked the red carpet, along with key filmmakers including executive producers Brad Winderbaum, Sana Amanat, showrunner Dario Scardapane, and directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead.

Before the premiere, Cox and D’Onofrio visited the Empire State Building for a special lighting ceremony in collaboration with Marvel Television, Disney+, and the American Red Cross. The iconic New York landmark glowed red in honor of the beloved characters returning to their home city.

“It’s so great, yeah. We’re so happy about the show being back,” D’Onofrio said. “We had such a great time shooting the first season. It was hard, it was difficult, but we pulled it off somehow.”

Cox echoed his excitement, saying, “I’m still pinching myself. I never believed this moment would happen. It’s been six years since we last had an episode released, and it’s just surreal. It’s a dream.”

New York has always been an integral part of Daredevil, and the return to the city for the premiere was a full-circle moment for many in the cast.

“I was born and raised here, so New York has a special place for me, for work, for personal reasons,” said Woll. “We always talk about New York being a character in the show, and I think we had to be here for the premiere. We had to be in this crazy building. It’s beautiful, and it’s fun. It feels celebratory, which not all premieres feel.”

Henson, who reprises his role as Foggy Nelson, expressed his enthusiasm as well. “I love New York. It’s a very special place. I’m super excited to be here, and I’m excited with how excited the fans are.”

For Wilson Bethel, who returns as Bullseye, the moment felt surreal. “It’s been, what, seven years, eight years? It feels like waking up from a really long, deep slumber to a really inviting environment. Being reunited with Charlie and Vincent, the rest of the cast, and this whole creative team—it’s just amazing.”

While Daredevil: Born Again is a new series, the cast and crew see it as a continuation of the world built in the original Netflix show.

“It’s like a fifth season, a fourth season of the original show,” D’Onofrio said. “We’re calling it Daredevil: Born Again, and it’s the first season of that, but it’s the same tone, same guys, same misery, same excitement, same emotions—and more.”

“It’s dark, for sure. There’s a little bit of everything. We’ve got all the fan favorites back, all the great characters back, and we introduce some new ones. There are some really cool, iconic cameos from the comics,” Cox added.

Showrunner Dario Scardapane reflected on the long journey to bringing the show back.

“It’s been a really, really long road since I came into this, and so many talented people did so much hard work,” he said. “The reaction was huge, as far as that feeling of ‘we’re getting the band back together.’”
