Big Mood Renewed for Season 2 by Channel 4
There’s more in store for Maggie and Eddie!
The hit comedy Big Mood has been renewed for a second season by Channel 4.
The series debuted with a six-episode season starring Nicola Coughlan (Bridgerton) and Lydia West (It’s a Sin) in March 2024. To say the least, Big Mood Season 1 Episode 6, “Great Beyond,” ends with Eddie (West) leaving for California by herself, signaling a potential friendship break-up with Maggie (Coughlan).

Big Mood Season 2 will pick up a year since Maggie (Coughlan) and Eddie (West) have seen each other — with no contact between the best friends, per its description.
“When Eddie suddenly returns for a wedding, she isn’t alone – Maggie has competition, in the form of an infuriatingly positive spiritual healer named Whitney. Can Maggie and her special brand of chaos find space in Eddie’s new life? Or will Maggie lose Eddie forever?”
Rebecca Asher, who directed the show’s debut season will return as the director of Big Mood Season 2.
The comedy series, written and created by Camilla Whitehill, became Channel 4 stream’s highest new comedy launch since Derry Girls, on which Coughlan also starred. Big Mood streamed on Tubi in the US and Canada.

“I had no plan B and zero transferable skills so I am overjoyed to be bringing Big Mood back for another round! Discovering that there are actually loads of weirdos who like the same weirdo stuff as me has been a real privilege,” Whitehill said.
“My eternal love and gratitude go to everyone at Channel 4, Dancing Ledge and Fremantle for their fierce support and hard work. My ongoing blackmail campaign against Nicola Coughlan and Lydia West continues in earnest. They’ll never escape me,” Whitehill added.
“Deeply grateful to everyone who loves our mad, funny, sad show. It’s been one of the greatest joys of my life making it, and I’m beyond delighted that we get to come back and tell the next chapter of Maggie and Eddie’s story. Rats at the ready,” Nicola Coughlan shared.
“So excited to reunite with my besties and work on series 2! I can’t wait to see the scripts and get back to the world of Eggie!” Lydia West added.

“We’re absolutely thrilled that Big Mood has been recommissioned by the wonderful Channel 4,” Laurence Bowen, CEO of Dancing Ledge Productions and executive producer, said.
“The success of series one is a testament to Camilla’s exceptional writing and the brilliant central performances from Nicola and Lydia, whose chemistry brought the perfect balance of heart, humour, energy and authenticity to the show,” Bowen continued.
“It’s been fantastic to see how audiences have embraced the show across the world, and we’re excited to build on that in series two,” Bowen concluded.
Lotte Beasley Mestriner also returns to executive produce Big Mood Season 2 alongside executive producer Chris Carey for Dancing Ledge Productions. Dancing Ledge Productions are a Fremantle company.
