Andor Season 2 Trailer Features Rogue One Star’s Return, the Rebel Alliance’s Rise, and More

The Rebel Alliance’s rise to power is finally coming to fruition thanks to one man on Andor Season 2!

Disney+ released the first trailer for Andor Season 2, continuing the stories of those who played a role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The second season premieres on Disney+ with a three-episode premiere on Tuesday, April 22. The 12-episode will then unfold through weekly releases.

While viewers at Disney’s D23 event in Brazil got an exclusive look at Andor Season 2, the trailer reveals much more.

From Andor’s clandestine operations to the appearances of some fan-favorite Star Wars characters, the series’ grand finale is looking explosive.

Andor Season 2 sees the galaxy around Cassian Andor intensifying as the war between the Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire nears closer. “Everyone will be tested and, as the stakes rise, the betrayals, sacrifices, and conflicting agendas will become profound,” per its logline.

The trailer showcases fiery, chaotic riots across planets with the Galactic Empire’s stormtroopers trying to bring peace under Emperor Palpatine’s rule. Throughout the trailer, Andor teams up with his friend, Bix Caleen, and takes up dangerous missions, like stealing a new TIE fighter.

Iconic Star Wars characters also make their return, including Saw Garrerra, Mon Mothma, Luthen Rael, and more. As for those still bonded to the Galactic Empire, Andor Season 2 is looking to explore the moral conflicts stirring within agent Dedra Meero and disgraced inspector Syril Karn.

Furthermore, Andor Season 2 also features two prominent characters from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. As teased before, director Orson Krennic will appear as the Death Star continues its construction. Additionally, K-2SO also appears. Both characters’ roles in the season have yet to be revealed.

“One of the great thrills of making Andor is the scale of the story and the number of characters we’re able to meet — ordinary people, Imperial overlords, passionate revolutionaries,” creator and executive producer Tony Gilroy said.

“They are real people making epic decisions, all of them staring down questions with terrifying consequences,” Gilroy described. “Cassian’s journey is the soul and spine of our story, but it’s the choir that makes the show.”

Andor Season 2 stars Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård, Genevieve O’Reilly, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Faye Marsay, Varada Sethu, Elizabeth Dulau, Alan Tudyk, with Ben Mendelsohn and Forest Whitaker.

Tony Gilroy wrote the first three episodes, with Beau Willimon writing episodes 4-6, Dan Gilroy penning episodes 7-9, and Tom Bissell putting pen to paper for episodes 10-12. The directors for the series include Ariel Kleiman (Eps. 1-6), Janus Metz (Eps. 7-9), and Alonso Ruizpalacios (Eps. 10-12).
