Yellowjackets Season 3 Trailer Released by Paramount+ with Showtime

Yellowjackets has released a new trailer for its upcoming third season.

The trailer confirms that the season will premiere with two episodes on Valentine’s Day — Friday, February 14, 2025 — on Paramount+ with Showtime. Yellowjackets Sesaon 3 will have its on-air debut on Sunday, February 16 at 8/7c on Showtime.

Along with the trailer, the streamer has shared several promotional photos from upcoming Yellowjackets episodes.

Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, Yellowjackets follows one set of characters across two parallel storylines, one set in 1996 and one in the present day. In the 1996 storyline, a New Jersey high school girls’ soccer team crash-landed in the Canadian wilderness while on a flight to nationals.

They descend into savagery and cannibalism before being rescued 19 months later. In the present, the now middle-aged “Yellowjackets” still struggle to readjust, haunted by what they did and saw in the wilderness.

Yellowjackets Season 2, ending about halfway through the girls’ stay in the wild, ended with them beginning the ritual of their hunt and electing Natalie Scatorccio (Sophie Thatcher) as their new leader.

Then, the cabin they’d been held up in caught fire, implied to be the work of Coach Ben Scott (Steven Krueger), who was horrified by the girls’ feral actions.

The Yellowjackets trailer is set to a version of “Let The Bodies Hit The Floor” by Drowning Pool, fitting the show’s predominantly 90s/early aughts soundtrack.

In the 1996 storyline, the Yellowjackets have now begun to build huts for shelter and are wearing hand-crafted clothes.

The hunting has continued, if not escalated. Building on hints of animosity in Season 2, the Yellowjackets trailer suggests that Shauna (Sophie Nelisse) is plotting a coup against Natalie. Natalie, who was always the closest to Ben, appears to be hiding his location from the other girls.

So, Shauna is using that to pit them against each other.

In the present-day storyline, Shauna (Melanie Lynskey) claims that “Someone wants us [the Yellowjackets]” dead. Misty (Christina Ricci) is investigating something, perhaps that someone.

There are some brief shots of Hillary Swank’s new character, though her name and role in the story remain unrevealed. Swank joins Yellowjackets Season 3 as a guest star, as will Joel McHale.

It’s still uncertain what questions will be answered and which won’t. The trailer promises that “Secrets Will Be Spilled” on Yellowjackets Season 3.
