Running Point Trailer Released by Netflix
A new trailer for the Kate Hudson-led comedy series Running Point has been released by Netflix. The upcoming series stars Hudson as Isla Gordon, the new president of the fictional Los Angeles Waves basketball team.
Netflix released the new trailer as part of the company’s Next on Netflix event.
Running Point‘s trailer’s humor stems from Isla’s lack of experience managing a sports team and her fumbling to get the team on track.

TheWrap reveals more of the ongoing plot of the series, detailing how Isla has to prove critics wrong, including her own brothers.
Besides playing the starring role, Hudson is also one of the executive producers for Running Point. The series also stars Max Greenfield as Isla’s fiance, Lev Levy. However, the trailer suggests that her relationship with Lev may possibly be in jeopardy.
Brenda Song plays the chief of staff for the Waves and Isla’s best friend, Ali Lee. In the trailer, Lee is the only character on Isla’s side and her biggest supporter.
Gordon’s two brothers, Ness and Sandy, are played by Scott MacArthur and Drew Tarver, respectively. The trailer presents Waves as a family business, with Ness, the general manager, and Sandy, the chief financial officer.

Running Point‘s conflict stems from how Isla’s brothers don’t have faith in her running the team due to nepotism and her party-girl past. The rest of the cast includes Toby Sandeman, Fabrizio Guido, Chet Hanks, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Jay Ellis, Dane DiLiegro, and Scott Evans.
Variety reports that Running Point was created by The Mindy Project’s Mindy Kaling, with Ike Barinholtz, Elaine Ko, and David Stassen listed as the co-creators for the comedy show.
Kaling, Barinholtz, and Stassen are also the acting executive producers and writers of the series, with Stassen as the lead showrunner. Jeanie Buss, president and co-owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, and Linda Rambis, the Laker’s special projects manager, are also executive producers for the show.
