The Wheel of Time Season 3 Adds Shohreh Aghdashloo as Elaida
The Wheel of Time Season 3 has found its Elaida do Avriny a’Roihan.
Emmy Award-winner Shohreh Aghdashloo will appear on the epic fantasy series as one of the Aes Sedai, an elite sisterhood that can channel the One Power.
Elaida is one of the most highly anticipated characters from Robert Jordan’s book series, upon which The Wheel of Time is based. Aghdashloo will appear in the third season, alongside Rosamund Pike as Moiraine Damodred, when it premieres on Thursday, March 13, 2025, on Prime Video.

Showrunner Rafe Judkins and cast members Josha Stradowski, who portrays Rand al’Thor, and Madeleine Madden, who plays Egwene al’Vere, shared the premiere date and debuted the season’s teaser trailer on Saturday, December 7, on the Thunder Stage at CCXP24.
The third season’s teaser trailer picks up after Rand is revealed as the Dragon Reborn, destined to save or destroy the world, on The Wheel of Time Season 2 Episode 8, “What Was Meant to Be.”
The Wheel of Time Season 3’s full synopsis reads as follows:
At the end of Season Two, after defeating Ishamael, Rand reunites with his friends at Falme and is declared the Dragon Reborn. But in Season Three, the threats against the Light are multiplying: the White Tower stands divided, the Black Ajah run free, old enemies return to the Two Rivers, and the remaining Forsaken are in hot pursuit of the Dragon… including Lanfear, whose relationship with Rand will mark a crucial choice between Light and Dark for them both. As the ties to his past begin to unravel, and his corrupted power grows stronger, Rand becomes increasingly unrecognizable to his closest allies, Moiraine and Egwene. These powerful women, who started the series as teacher and student, must now work together to prevent the Dragon from turning to the Dark…no matter the cost.

Described as “a ruthlessly powerful Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah, as proficient in politicking as she is in channeling,” Aghdashloo’s Elaida “is someone who believes in ends over means, and is willing to do anything to achieve what she envisions to be the greater good.”
Her history with Moiraine and Siun — and the scores she wishes to settle with them — brings her back to the White Tower. It’s possible that Elaida’s mission could derail Moiraine’s quest to keep Rand on the right path. All will be revealed when The Wheel of Time returns for its third season in 2025.
The Wheel of Time also stars Daniel Henney as al’Lan Mandragoran, Zoë Robins as Nynaeve al’Meara Marcus Rutherford as Perrin Aybara, Dónal Finn as Mat Cauthon, Ceara Coveney as Elayne Trakand, Kate Fleetwood as Leandrin Guirale, Natasha O’Keefe as Lanfear, Ayoola Smart as Aviendha, and Kae Alexander as Min Farshaw.
Rick Selvage and Larry Mondragon of iwot productions, Mike Weber, Ted Field of Radar Pictures, Marigo Kehoe, Ciaran Donnelly, Justine Juel Gillmer, Dave Hill, and Rosamund Pike serve as executive producers. Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television co-produce the series.
