The Equalizer Season 5 Episode 7 Review: Slay Ride
The Equalizer Season 5 Episode 7, “Slay Ride,” is the perfect mix of Christmas spirit, romance, and chaos that one would expect from a show like this. While Delilah and Cam share their first onscreen kiss, her mom is stuck between Qwhat was and what could be.
The love triangle between Robyn, Dante, and Miles has set the mood for several episodes throughout the series, but none compare to what “Slay Ride” does for the story. Placing the three characters in the same hospital during a cartel takeover is probably the smartest move for the characters and viewers to understand what is happening between them.
While Robyn ends the episode seemingly knowing what she wants as she tells Miles nothing can happen between them again, viewers are less convinced about this statement. The chemistry is undeniably there.

Even though The Equalizer has always created a setting in which Dante and Robyn would eventually end up together, things changed when Miles came back into the picture wanting to reconcile with Robyn.
The ground has been set for the perfect slow-burn between Dante and Robyn, going from enemies to co-workers/friends to lovers. However, the chemistry has never truly been there.
Dante and Robyn feel like just friends. Yes, there are discreet looks they share here and there, but nothing that makes the audience believe there could be something more.
But the chemistry with Miles is undeniable. From the moment he returned wanting to rebuild the relationship, the sparks have been felt through the screen.
And when Robyn needed someone the most after one of the toughest cases on The Equalizer Season 5 Episode 6, “The Fight for Life,” she turned to Miles. It might be like she says because he is the safe option, but there’s something about choosing to go to him when Dante was the one who saved her.
Miles makes it clear he will wait for her, and Robyn doesn’t shut down this possibility, which is obvious when she invites him to the bar with everyone else.

What The Equalizer Season 5 Episode 7, “Slay Ride,” does perfectly is the introduction between both men. It is initially incredibly awkward when Robyn introduces them by name, not explaining who they are or what they mean to her.
Then, it becomes a battle of the egos, trying to claim their territory in Robyn’s life. Dante tries to diminish his role by calling Miles the ex-husband, while Miles tries to hold on to what he has by claiming he and Robyn have their own thing, too.
The hostage situation forces them to save each other’s lives, putting aside their emotions and feelings for Robyn. Miles bandages Dante up after the explosion, and Dante helps save him from Shaw. They are even.
Robyn is the only one who can decide to end this love triangle. Both men will continue to wait for her. Can she make a decision?
Or are her feelings and history with both men too complicated to help her decide?

Two other plotlines must be highlighted from The Equalizer Season 5 Episode 7, “Slay Ride.” The first one is Delilah’s feelings toward Robyn’s job coming full circle.
When she says she can’t call her parents because it might give their location away and then reassures Aunt Vi that Robyn will be okay, viewers can see how much she has grown and how far she has come.
The training she received from Mel and her mom prepared her to handle the situation. While Aunt Vi is about to break down, Delilah can hold it together until she knows her parents are making it back home safely.
The second plotline that must be celebrated is Mel’s healing coming full circle as well. Even though she still has ways to go, having the courage to sing her song to Harry shows that she is healing, learning to express herself, and understanding her PTSD and her triggers.
It will be interesting to see if, after this special moment, the relationship with Robyn is less awkward than it has been throughout the first few episodes of The Equalizer Season 5.

The Equalizer Season 5 goes on hiatus on a high note. The entirety of the season has been of the highest quality, delivering some of the best episodes we have seen since the show started.
Hopefully, the remainder of the season will be up to par.

Great review. However, I feel the complete opposite about the love triangle; I think the chemistry between Robyn and Dante has always been undeniable and Robyn and Miles seems more forced and unbelievable. I think Miles has more feelings Robyn than she has for him. And I think the feelings between Robyn and Dante is pretty much equal.
Where can I get a copy of Mel’s song she sings in S5E7. Excellent tune!
