Preview — Outlander Returns to Scotland for Season 7 Part 2
Outlander’s mid-season hiatus lasted one year and three months — a record for the dreaded Draughtlander.
Thankfully, we have survived the great war and will be rewarded soon enough with Outlander Season 7 Part 2. This second half promises a homecoming worth the wait, with eight heart-pounding episodes at the heart of Scotland and a revolving door of familiar faces.
Fan-favorite (or iconically-despised) characters reprising their roles include Graham McTavish as Dougal MacKenzie, Lotte Verbeek as Geillis Duncan, and Nell Hudson as Laoghaire MacKenzie.

Jamie and Claire’s return to the Scottish Highlands unearths new grief and old ghosts as they reckon with death, illness, and the history they left behind for America.
It’s a complicated reunion made all the more bittersweet by the news that Lord John’s nephew has grown ill. Jamie, officially suiting up as a blue coat, encourages Claire to return to America and save his life.
In true Outlander fashion, when our two soulmates are separated, all hell breaks loose.
Lord John receives news Jamie died in battle, but Claire refuses to believe her heart would continue beating if this were true.
Thus, the real conflict of the season begins as Claire overcomes a marriage of convenience and Jamie, a storm of his making, to find their way back to each other again.

They are not the only ones separated by time, however.
Roger and Buck race through the rocks to rescue Jemmy from Rob Cameron as Brianna’s trickster coworker searches for Jacobite gold.
However, as the true intentions of the kidnapping come to light, Brianna and Roger find themselves separated by the stones and forced to navigate this new conflict on their own.
Roger was already struggling to put his past with Buck behind him after seeing how well the MacKenzie adapted to living with his wife and kids. Now, he must rely on the Scotsman to get him back to his time in one piece.
But will the Revolutionary War pull them in a different, deadlier direction?

It is a race against time, sea, and war for the Mackenzies and Frasers to find their way home to each other.
Unfortunately, what began as a hopeful Scottish homecoming turns into a heartbreaking choice between the country they fell in love with and the home they made for themselves in America.
At the end of this eight-episode rollercoaster, Outlander will prepare Claire for her final journey through the stones and Jamie for his final stand on the battlefield.
