Preview — 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 7: Athena Goes Undercover
It’s a big week for Athena and Bobby on 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 7, “Hotshots.”
Not only will Athena go undercover at what appears to be a jewelry heist, but she will also be assigned a rookie. Little is known about the character other than Zach Tinker will play him.
The episode description for “Hotshots” teases that this new mentorship will have Athena questioning her abilities. But, let’s be honest, she’s Athena Grant-Nash. Who is better than her?

Meanwhile, Bobby revisits the Hotshots set with the 118 as a filming day takes a dramatic turn. There, the team will reunite with Vincent Gerrard and Brad Torrence. The former reunion should be interesting, but the latter is all love. Look at Brad’s face when he sees Bobby! That hug? Adorable.
It’s hard to know, but the “Hotshots” photos suggest that the fictional show is taking inspiration from 9-1-1, if even indirectly. In the photo above, a man with metal rebar in his head stands behind Hen. Sound familiar?
9-1-1 takes it one step further, with one of the fictional firefighters getting injured while filming a scene on the firetruck’s ladder, leaving him dangling in the balance. What about that? Does that sound familiar? The promo video for “Hotshots” at least insinuates those coincidences should add up.
Plus, it seems like Maddie and Chimney may go on a date night to celebrate their big news. As if that’s not already sweet enough, it looks like Jee-Yun Buckley Han may sweep into her adoring uncle’s life right when she needs him. After all, Buck can only bake so much to deal with his break-up with Tommy.
