Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 4 Review: Blurred Lines
Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 4, “Blurred Lines,” becomes the second installment in what proves to be a season-long case of who is after Sharon Goodwin. The broken picture frame in her office is just another hint at what might be coming at her, and finally, the scare she needs to take the threat seriously.
Even though the broken frame has an explanation (can we trust that Murray guy to be telling the truth?), Goodwin’s life still isn’t a hundred percent safe. These little scary encounters she’s been having since receiving the death threat are just hints at what’s to come.
Because the situation is only given to viewers in small doses throughout the episodes, we can expect it to turn more severe later on. After all, when has a One Chicago show ever done anything without a major end goal in mind?

After the tragic loss of her patient on Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 3, “Trust Fall,” everyone expected Asher to have a breakdown. Luckily, she hasn’t relapsed, but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t been thinking about it.
Before she tells Ripley about attending NA meetings, thinking about doing drugs, and what her coping mechanism is, we can tell Asher is overworking herself to keep herself from doing something drastic. Having flashbacks, not sleeping, and being overly cautious with new patients are just signs of how she is handling the trauma.
The truth is that the doctors around her and us viewers on the other side of the screen know that her patient’s death wasn’t her fault. The only culprit is the OB who ignored her symptoms, didn’t diagnose the preeclampsia, and sent her home to drink water.
It is quite significant that the one person who tells Asher whose fault it was is Lenox. The two of them seemed to be butting heads after Lenox asked Asher if she believed her role in the ED was relevant. Trying to prove herself, Asher didn’t stop to think if Lenox was simply asking a question to help the ED run better.
However, in a male-dominated environment, it stands out that the other female doctor is the one who tells Asher she is a good doctor and shouldn’t blame herself for something another doctor missed. This moment is Lenox’s saving grace after three episodes in which fans couldn’t decide whether they liked her or not.

For those viewers who tune in for the romance, Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 4, “Blurred Lines,” doesn’t disappoint as it sees Ripley and Asher on the other side of their argument.
Ripley does something hard for him to do in the past: he apologizes for his mistake. Even though at first Asher isn’t ready to hear it because she is dealing with her trauma, it helps to know he is taking a step in the right direction.
However, he knows Hannah needs him, so he finds a way to be there for her without pushing her boundaries. By working the night shift and listening to her talk about her thoughts, he is helping more than he knows.
The moment that seals their reconciliation is when Asher leans against him after he says he wants to be someone she can lean on. Ripley still can’t realize how far he has come from the person he used to be. Maybe helping Asher navigate this experience will help him see that.
In the meantime, we’re glad she is staying sober and has someone she can confide in.

Time and time again, viewers have praised Maggie for how she advocates for patients in every situation. However, it is concerning to see how she behaves toward Jackie when she first appears on “Blurred Lines.”
When she finds out Jackie is the new ED nurse, she begins to walk on eggshells. Even though she seems cautious, given what happened, her attitude and behavior come across as judgmental.
That is when we begin to wonder how it is possible for someone who is such a loud advocate to behave that way. Shouldn’t she be more understanding?
It isn’t until she tells Charles that she feels responsible for Jackie that we can understand her behavior. However, she should have spoken to Jackie about her feelings regarding her job at the ED rather than treating her as fragile.
Jackie proves herself when she shares her experience with a patient and gets her to agree to get the help she needs. It will be interesting to see how Jackie’s presence changes the dynamic in the ED. She is someone who can connect to the patients on a different level because, as she said, she understands what it is like to experience the worst and most traumatic moment of your life.

In true Chicago Med nature, Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 4, “Blurred Lines,” delivers several different storylines that keep viewers on their toes and thinking about the reality of healthcare in America.
However, the one thing that we cannot stop thinking about is: who sent Goodwin the death threat? As much as the episode tries to brush off the situation, the fear for Goodwin’s life is very real.
Could it be someone we’ve already met? Or is it a new character coming in to shake things up?
Stray Thoughts
- Even though Frost jumped to a conclusion out of concern, the situation served as a way to learn more about him. Clearly, he was hiding his past as a teen star, but the truth about his parents is the real secret. It’s also no surprise that he can open up to Ripley, considering he has secrets of his own.
- Archer’s moment with his son, agreeing to drive with him to Florida, helps show how far he has come. The man we met when he first joined the show is long gone. Now, he is a character we can’t imagine ever leaving the show.
- Lenox’s efforts to fix the mistakes in the ED are correct, but she might be going about it the wrong way. If she had more real conversations as she did with Asher, the doctors and nurses might be more open to listening to her.
