Preview — Slow Horses Season 4 Episode 2: A Stranger Comes to Town
Slow Horses Season 4 Episode 2, “A Stranger Comes to Town,” picks up with River headed out to hopefully learn about the man sent to kill his grandfather.
The episode description references “a naive agent,” which unfortunately sounds like our guy River, so perhaps he will uncover something useful while he’s pretending to be this killer.
River’s on his own though, and based on his track record, things will not go well for him. But hey, maybe he will surprise us all. We have (some) faith in you, River!

Slow Horses Season 4 Episode 1, “Identity Theft,” ended with Jackson at Catherine’s apartment, trying to get answers out of a confused David. I doubt Jackson will have much luck there, but maybe Catherine will have some more information for him.
At some point during “A Stranger Comes to Town,” Jackson needs to let the rest of Slough House know that River is not dead. It’s a small detail but still important. He probably had his reasons for making them think River died, but Jackson is going to need their help figuring out what’s going on.
And Slough House can only be moderately helpful if they have all the pieces of information.
