House of the Dragon Season 2 Trailer Features A House Divided and More Dragons
HBO has unveiled the trailer for House of the Dragon Season 2.
This new footage follows HBO’s previous teasers, released in March, which encouraged audiences to pick Team Green or Team Black.
The highly-anticipated season of the Game of Thrones prequel series will premiere on Sunday, June 16, at 9/8c on HBO and stream on Max.

The series, set 200 years before Game of Thrones and based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, follows the Targaryen’s infamous Dance of the Dragons. During this, Aegon Targaryen usurped Rhaenyra Targaryen’s throne, triggering events that changed the Targaryen house forever.
At the end of the first season, Aemond Targaryen killed Rhaenyra’s son, Lucerys, and the war was officially declared.
The House of the Dragon trailer starts with Rhaenyra and Team Black (those loyal to her) preparing to take King’s Landing to avenge her son and take back her throne. Meanwhile, Aegon is advised by his mother, Alicent Hightower, to proceed with caution, but he wants revenge.
Both Team Black and Team Green are seen gathering their allies and dragons. Tensions keep rising between Rhaenyra and Daemon. The latter does not seem to answer when asked if he accepts her as the true queen of the realm. Meanwhile, Alicent and Team Green struggle to keep a hold of their people in King’s Landing.

There are glimpses of the numerous battles fought amongst them and glimpses of the Wall in the North, where Jacaerys Velaryon travels to form an alliance with the Starks. The House of the Dragon trailer ends with Rhaenyra uttering the chilling words, “War is coming, and neither of us may win,” as she stands before a massive dragon.
The upcoming season sees returning cast members Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Rhys Ifans, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham.
House of the Dragon Season 2 features new cast: Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower, Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong, Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett as Ulf, Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark, and Vincent Regan as Ser Rickard Thorne.
Co-creator and executive producer Ryan Condal is this season’s showrunner. House of the Dragon is executive produced by George R.R. Martin, Sara Hess, Alan Taylor, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Loni Peristere, and Vince Gerardis.
