Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2 Premiere Date Announced by Paramount+

The BAU is coming back to TV next month!

Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2 will make its two-episode premiere on Thursday, June 6, on Paramount+. The rest of the 10-episode season, produced by ABC Signature and CBS Studios, will stream weekly. 

The upcoming season follows the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) investigating Gold Star, the deadly conspiracy mystery.

The team “is met with an unexpected complication when serial killer Elias Voit negotiates a deal that transfers him to federal custody in the BAU’s own backyard. The team faces its biggest threat yet and cannot emerge unscathed from the mind-bending consequences,” per the season’s synopsis.

Paramount+’s revival of the long-running crime drama Criminal Minds premiered with Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 1 Episodes 1 and 2, “Just Getting Started / Sicarius,” in November 2022. 

During the season, the BAU faced Voit, played by Zach Gilford, the UnSub who used the COVID pandemic to create a network of serial killers.

The debut season concluded with Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 1 Episode 10, “Dead End,” in February 2023.

Paramount+ renewed the series for Season 2 in January 2023. “We’re thrilled to bring even more twisted storylines to our loyal fans of Criminal Minds: Evolution with the order of another season,” Tanya Giles, chief programming officer of Paramount Streaming, said.

“The series has always been a consistent top performer for Paramount+ and fans have quickly embraced this new season with its more serialized elements. There are still many dark twists and turns yet to come for the BAU this season and we can’t wait for fans to see what’s in store,” Giles added.

Criminal Minds: Evolution stars Joe Mantegna as David Rossi, A.J. Cook as Jennifer ‘JJ’ Jareau, Kirsten Vangsness as Penelope Garcia, Aisha Tyler as Dr. Tara Lewis, Adam Rodriguez as Luke Alves, and Paget Brewster as Emily Prentiss, who reprise their roles from the original series that aired from 2005-2020 on CBS.

The revival series also stars Ryan-James Hatanaka, with Felicity Huffman set to guest star on Season 2. Erica Messer serves as the showrunner and executive producer. Breen Frazier, Chris Barbour, Glenn Kershaw, and Mark Gordon also executive produce Criminal Minds: Evolution.
