Young Sheldon Spinoff Series Focusing on Georgie and Mandy Ordered to Series at CBS

The Big Bang Theory Universe continues to grow with a Young Sheldon spinoff series focusing on Georgie and Mandy.

The sequel series starring Montana Jordan and Emily Osment has been ordered to series for the 2024/2025 broadcast season on CBS.

This news comes ahead of Young Sheldon Season 7 Episode 4, “Ants on a Log and a Cheating Winker,” on Thursday, March 7, at 8/7c on CBS.

The new half-hour, multi-camera comedy will follow Jordan’s Georgie, Sheldon’s older brother, and Osment’s Mandy “as they raise their young family in Texas while navigating the challenges of adulthood, parenting, and marriage,” per its logline. 

“It has been a privilege to spend the last seven years with Sheldon and the Cooper family and now this wonderful journey will continue with Georgie and Mandy,” Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, said.

“Chuck and both Steves have done a masterful job developing these characters and entertaining generations of fans with relatable, heartwarming stories brought to life by Montana and Emily. We eagerly look forward to the next chapter in this beloved universe,” Reisenbach added.

Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro, and Steve Holland created the unnamed sequel series, which is produced by the same team that created The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon.

“From The Big Bang Theory to Young Sheldon, the world of the Cooper family has been incredibly special to us,” executive producers Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro, and Steve Holland said.

“We’re very excited to continue their stories through the eyes of Georgie and Mandy,” the trio added.

Young Sheldon Season 7 premiered on Thursday, February 15, at 8/7c. In November 2023, CBS announced that the comedy’s seventh season would be its last. The Big Bang Theory prequel series will have a two-episode series finale on Thursday, May 16, at 8/7c on CBS. 

Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro, and Steve Holland will serve as executive producers of the series from Chuck Lorre Productions, Inc., in association with Warner Bros. Television of the Georgie and Mandy-led spinoff series.
