The Equalizer Season 4 Episode 4 Review: All Bets Are Off
The Equalizer Season 4 Episode 4, “All Bets Are Off,” is yet another reminder of how great Robyn is when she goes undercover. However, it proves she wouldn’t be able to do things alone.
As great as she is at watching her back, fighting the bad guys, and saving herself, she wouldn’t be able to solve the cases without the help of Dante, Harry, and Mel. But this time, she couldn’t do it without JJ.
The show repeatedly tells us that even though Robyn is the equalizer, she needs her team to equalize.

On previous episodes, the entire team was doing a bit of everything. They were all over the place, making sure everyone made it home safely.
However, The Equalizer Season 4 Episode 4, “All Bets Are Off,” helps better understand their role on the team. Robyn is the face, the one the victims come to when they need help, and the one who goes out there to get the information in the first place.
Mel is her backup, the physical help she needs. She keeps an eye out and is ready to fight when the bad guys come close. Harry is their eyes behind the scenes, using his computers and software to find more evidence and having eyes all over the city.
Dante is the voice of reason and what keeps them within the limits of what is legal. His support is necessary to guarantee the bad guys are brought to justice.
They are all a key element of the team and the show. If one of them disappeared, The Equalizer wouldn’t be the same.

On The Equalizer Season 4 Episode 4, “All Bets Are Off,” each of them is where they should be. Robyn works in the front with JJ, going undercover and facing Benson.
Mel fights Benson’s bodyguard when he attacks JJ and breaks into the casino to help find Garcia. Harry uses M.E.L. to gather evidence and find where they have taken Garcia. Dante breaks into the lab with the SWAT team and helps his old partner.
If one of them had been out of place or couldn’t find specific information, the case would have gone south, and they wouldn’t have been able to bring Garcia back home.
This element of the show goes hand in hand with how consistent the storylines have been. Every little detail is there for a reason and will, at one point or another, appear on an episode again.
On “All Bets Are Off,” what ties the episode to the rest is Robyn talking to Aunt Vi about Dante inviting her out for drinks and then mentioning it to Dante. Even though this hasn’t happened yet, it is still present, giving us clues that it will eventually happen.

The storyline that has tied all of The Equalizer Season 4 together is the big question mark looming over Delilah’s future. What will she do after high school? Will she join the military?
These questions have been asked on every episode since the season started and are once again asked on The Equalizer Season 4 Episode 4, “All Bets Are Off.” Even though she gave Aunt Vi an explanation on The Equalizer Season 4 Episode 2, “Full Throttle,” she shares that she also wants to join the military to find people like her.
However, we start to notice something else: she is passionate about helping people. After joining Peer Ear, Delilah started helping and advising kids at her school. Could this be another possibility for her future?
It is clear that her future is very important to her, and The Equalizer Season 4 will continue to explore the different paths she could take after high school. She could become her mom and help people in a dangerous way or take a different route and help people with her words and advice.
Whatever the choice, she will follow in her mom’s footsteps one way or another.

So far, The Equalizer Season 4 has kept the perfect balance between action and emotional scenes. We have learned more about the characters’ lives while watching them continue to save those who need them.
Hopefully, the loose ends will be tied as the season goes on.
