Preview — Wild Cards Season 1 Episode 10: A Heist, a Husband, and a Season Finale
Ellis finds himself wrapped up in a case involving Max, her husband (or ex-husband), and a heist for the ages on Wild Cards Season 1 Episode 10, “Romancing the Egg.”
That’s a perfect set-up for a cop/con consultant drama’s season finale.
To make it even better, the “Romancing the Egg” promo video teases that Max and Ellis may even team up for this heist. Commissioner Russo returns in her bookend appearances on Wild Cards to express reasonable doubt, asking, “You want the police to help you steal something worth 33 million bucks?”

Karin Konoval last appeared as the Commissioner on Wild Cards Season 1 Episode 1, “The Infinity Thief.”
Max sees the cat-and-mouse heist for the world-famous Imperial egg as her “chance to fix the past” and also a way for Ellis and Max to get what they want so they “can be on” their “way.” That sounds like Max doesn’t see a future with Ellis.
Maybe Max’s husband, as she describes him at the end of Wild Cards Season 1 Episode 9, “Inside (Con)Man,” throws a wrench in Ellis’s feelings for Max — and understandably so. This season finale will test Max and Ellis’s friendship, partnership, and trust in each other. Hopefully, their dynamic survives it.
