Abbott Elementary Season 3 Episode 5, “Breakup,” explores chaotic new pairings as the plot to this drama-filled school year thickens.
When Barbara’s church choir starts using Abbott’s school gymnasium to rehearse, the group inadvertently overlaps with Ava’s step dance practices. Unfortunately for Barbara, the tension between the choir members does not go unnoticed by our reality-tv-loving principal.
The look of deepening displeasure on Mrs. Howard’s face says it all.

Meanwhile, to our delight, Jacob and Gregory are hanging out more after work. However, with a full social calendar dominating Jacob’s life, Gregory starts to worry about his co-worker. And could Zach’s casual work pop-in hint at an intervention?
Janine didn’t quite learn her lesson with meddling in substitute business, and she returns to Abbott with suspicions about another staff member.
She and Melissa will team up to investigate a new substitute teacher. While the details of this investigation are still under wraps, with these two on the case, we can assume that the substitute’s pizza is cooked.
As for what Gregory and Mr. Johnson are doing, which leads to Gregory looking confused and concerned on two separate occasions, we will have to wait and see. There is so much ensuing drama and so little time.
