Alex Rider Season 3 Premiere Date Announced by Amazon Freevee

Alex Rider, the spy thriller series based on the bestselling book franchise by Anthony Horowitz, will return for its third season in April on Amazon Freevee.

All eight episodes will stream on Friday, April 5, in the U.K., U.S., and Germany. Alex Rider Season 3 “will bring this chapter of Alex’s journey of self-discovery to a shocking conclusion on Amazon Freevee,” per the streamer.

The series debuted in November 2020. Alex Rider follows the titular, London-based teenager who discovers that he has unsuspectingly been trained for a life of espionage since he was a kid. The show’s eight-episode second season started streaming in December 2021.

Alex Rider Season 3 will be adapted from the fifth novel in Horowitz’s series, setting Alex against “his greatest enemy: the elusive criminal network known as Scorpia. Under new leadership, the criminal cabal plan to extort the British Government using their catastrophic new super-weapon: ‘Invisible Sword.”

“Free of The Department and aided by his closest friends, Tom and Kyra, Alex embarks on a personal mission to destroy Scorpia once and for all. Little does he know, his ties to both organisations run deeper than he ever thought possible,” per the season’s synopsis.

Alex Rider‘s third season stars Otto Farrant as Alex Rider, Vicky McClure as Mrs. Jones, Stephen Dillane as Alan Blunt, Brenock O’Connor as Tom Harris, Ronkẹ Adékọluẹ́jọ́ as Jack Starbright, and Marli Siu as Kyra Vashenko-Chao.

As Amazon Freevee previously shared, the season’s new cast members are Sofia Helin as Julia Rothman, Shelley Conn as Laura Kellner, Kevin McNally as Max Grendel, and Jason Wong as Nile.

I am thrilled this upcoming season will focus on Scorpia, as the story will lead Alex and viewers to question everything they’ve learned so far” executive producer and franchise author Anthony Horowitz said.

“We’re so excited to bring Anthony Horowitz’s fifth novel Scorpia to life with this upcoming season of the show, a personal favourite of mine and a huge turning point in Alex’s journey,” executive producer Eve Gutierrez shared.

“This season focuses in on how all of the characters have grown and evolved over the last few years, and we feel confident that fans will be gripped as Alex finds himself on the cusp of adulthood and torn between two dangerous organisations,” Gutierrez added.

Anthony Horowitz serves as an executive producer on Alex Rider alongside Eleventh Hour’s Jill Green and Eve Gutierrez, series writer Guy Burt, director Andreas Prochaska, and actor Otto Farrant. The series is distributed worldwide by Sony Pictures Television.
