Get ready to spend more time in Serenity with Maddie, Dana Sue, and Helen!

Sweet Magnolias has been renewed for a fourth season on Netflix.

The romantic drama series “follows lifelong best friends Maddie, Dana Sue, and Helen as they juggle relationships, family, and careers in the charming small town of Serenity, SC.,” per its official synopsis.

Based on the popular series of novels by Sherryl Woods, who also executive produces the series, Sweet Magnolias debuted with a 10-episode season in May 2020. JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Brooke Elliott, and Heather Headley star as the leading trio.

The Netflix series’ second season premiered in February 2022, with Season 3 premiering on the streaming service in July 2023.

“Across its three seasons, Sweet Magnolias has been in the Global Top 10 for 10 weeks in over 60 countries. Season 3 premiered on Netflix on July 20, 2023, and debuted at #1,” according to Netflix.

Sweet Magnolias‘ third season ended with Maddie and Cal sorting out the next steps in their relationship, Dana Sue and Ronnie renewing their vows, and Helen trying to get another chance with Erik. Not to mention, the show teased that Ty and Annie may finally become a couple.

Sheryl J. Anderson will return as showrunner and executive producer on Sweet Magnolias Season 4, which will be ten 50-minute episodes.

Anderson shared a celebratory graphic on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Thrilled we’re returning to Serenity, and looking forward to our SAG siblings getting the deal they richly deserve so we can celebrate with them!”

Sweet Magnolias‘ renewal comes after the resolution of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike, but SAG-AFRTA remains on strike for a fair contract with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).

Dan Paulson, whose Daniel L. Paulson Productions is producing, also returns as an executive producer on Sweet Magnolias.

Sweet Magnolias is streaming on Netflix.
