Sweet Magnolias Season 3 Premiere Date Released by Netflix
Get ready to spend the summer with Maddie, Dana Sue, and Helen in Serenity!
Sweet Magnolias, which focuses on three childhood best friends and their shared dream to open a spa in their hometown, returns with Season 3 on Thursday, July 20, on Netflix.
TV Line exclusively reported the news about the 10-episode season based on Sherryl Woods’ book series.
Netflix Life confirmed the Sweet Magnolias‘ news and reinforced a timeline for the upcoming season’s release with the reminder that Season 3 started production last summer.
Sweet Magnolias Season 2 premiered in February 2022 and left plenty of cliffhangers for Season 3 to explore.
Brooke Elliott’s Dana Sue Sullivan rekindled a flame with her previously-separated husband Ronnie and Ryan proposing to Heather Hadley’s Helen Decatur are only the beginning of what Season 3 must address when it premieres in July.
There’s also JoAnna Garcia Swisher’s Maddie Townsend wondering if Cal is who he says he is because, after all, the Season 2 finale reveals that Chris Klein’s Bill is Isaac’s father.
Those few twists in a long list from Season 2 prove that Serenity may be a small town, but it is filled with drama and romance. Sweet Magnolias has stayed true to that sentiment since its series debut in May 2021.
Sweet Magnolias‘ showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson, who is also an executive producer alongside Dan Paulson and Sherryl Woods, took to Twitter to celebrate the news about Season 3 and reference the Writers Guild of America’s strike.
Anderson wrote, “Come home to Serenity. SWEET MAGNOLIAS Season 3 launches July 20, 2023. See what an incredible group of writers, a stellar cast, and an amazing crew can create. #UnionStrong.”
Norman Buckley and Matt Drake are co-executive producers on Sweet Magnolias. The series also stars Justin Bruening, Logan Allen, Carson Rowland, Anneliese Judge, Brandon Quinn, Dion Johnstone, Chris Medlin, and Jamie Lynn Spears.
