Only Murders in the Building Renewed for Season 4 at Hulu

There are more murders in the building to come!

Only Murders in the Building has been renewed for a fourth season at Hulu. The streaming service shared the news on X (formerly Twitter) with the note, “The trio’s journey is far from over.”

The news about the comedic murder mystery comes the same day as its Season 3 finale. Only Murders in the Building Season 3 Episode 10, “Opening Night,” solves the murder of Paul Rudd’s Ben Glenroy and introduces another murder mystery for its newly renewed season — the death of Jane Lynch’s Sazz Pataki.

Charles, Oliver, and Mabel’s latest quest for the truth kicked off with Only Murders in the Building Season 3 Episodes 1 and 2, “The Show Must… / The Beat Goes On,” in August 2023 on Hulu.

“Without divulging concrete numbers, Hulu notes that Only Murders [in the Building] returned on Aug. 8 with the “most views” of any scripted Hulu original in 2023,” per TV Line.

From Steve Martin, Dan Fogelman, and John Hoffman, Only Murders in the Building follows Martin’s Charles, Martin Short’s Oliver, and Selena Gomez’s Mabel as they investigate murders in their building, the Arconia, via a murder-mystery podcast.

The show’s junior season introduced new guest stars, including Meryl Streep, Paul Rudd, Jesse Williams, and Ashley Park. The Hollywood Reporter asked showrunner John Hoffman if Streep and Williams could return in the show’s fourth season.

“There is no greater hope for me. I love them both, Jesse and Meryl, everyone. I mean, for God’s sakes, I would bring Paul back if we can,” Hoffman said, per THR.

“Listen, I would bring everyone back, and that might happen. Victims, killers, they’re all able to play in the landscape within this sort of certain narrative ways we can tell our stories,” Hoffman added.

The Hulu series debuted with Only Murders in the Building Season 1 Episodes 1, 2, and 3, “True Crime / Who Is Tim Kono / How Well Do You Know Your Neighbors?,” in August 2021.
