Heather Graham and Brandy Norwood Have the ‘Best. Christmas. Ever!’ in Trailer for Netflix Movie
Are you ready for a splendiferous time this holiday season?
The trailer for Netflix’s Christmas movie Best. Christmas. Ever!, starring Heather Graham as Charlotte Sanders and Brandy Norwood as Jackie Jennings, promises just that and more, including Brandy singing.
Best. Christmas. Ever! premieres on the streaming service on Thursday, November 16, per TV Line.
The trailer shows that Jackie “sends a boastful holiday newsletter that makes her old college friend Charlotte feel like a lump of coal,” per the movie’s description. To uncover the truth about Jackie’s supposedly splendid life, Charlotte wishes to surprise Jackie and arrive on her doorstep unannounced.
Coincidentally, “a twist of fate lands Charlotte and her family on Jackie’s snowy doorstep just days before Christmas.” What follows are Charlotte’s attempts to challenge the perfection in Jackie’s inn, pancake skills, and happy family.
Best. Christmas. Ever!‘s trailer takes a tonal shift when the two old friends begin to unpack their past. While it doesn’t reveal much, the footage teases that something occurred to make Charlotte believe they aren’t friends and shouldn’t spend this holiday together.
The movie also stars Jason Biggs, Matt Cedeño, Wyatt Hunt, Abby Villasmil, and Madison Skye Validum.
Director Mary Lambert, who also directed Netflix’s A Castle for Christmas, spoke to Netflix’s TUDUM about stepping behind the camera with this cast for Best. Christmas. Ever!.
“Jackie needed to have a certain kind of mystery and a certain kind of joy, but an inscrutable joy,” Lambert said. So, Brandy perfectly fits the role of Jackie Jennings because she “just makes you feel like she’s really happy to see you.”
Meanwhile, Lambert also liked what Graham brought to Charlotte. “I knew she could become this slightly over-the-top personality, but with complexity so that when you see her being jealous, there’s a lot of conflicting emotions going on there,” Lambert said.
Best. Christmas. Ever! has a story by Todd Calgi Gallicano and a screenplay by Gallicano and Charles Shyer.
