The Righteous Gemstones Renewed for Season 4 on HBO
The Righteous Gemstones is coming back for Season 4 on HBO!
The comedy series’ renewal comes days before its nine-episode third season concludes on Sunday, July 30, at 10/9c on HBO.
With Season 3 viewership on track to reach a new high, The Righteous Gemstones becomes Danny McBride’s most-watched HBO series, surpassing Eastbound and Down, which aired for four seasons from 2009-2013, and Vice Principals, which aired for two seasons from 2016-2017.
The Righteous Gemstones‘ third season “tells the story of a world-famous televangelist family with a long tradition of deviance, greed, and charitable work,” per its logline.
“When the spoiled Gemstone children finally get their wish to take control of the Church, they discover leadership is harder than they imagined and that their extravagant lifestyle comes with a heavy price.”
Its third season premiered in June with The Righteous Gemstones Season 3 Episodes 1 and 2, “For I Know the Plans I Have for You / But Esau Ran to Meet Him.” The show’s creator Danny McBride also stars as Jesse Gemstone.
Adam Devine stars as Kelvin Gemstone, with John Goodman as Eli Gemstone, Edi Patterson as Judy Gemstone, Cassidy Freeman as Amber Gemstone, Skyler Gisondo as Gideon Gemstone, Jennifer Nettles as Aimee-Leigh Gemstone, Kelton DuMont as Pontious Gemstone, and Gavin Munn as Abraham Gemstone.
The Righteous Gemstones‘ cast includes Tim Baltz, Tony Cavalero, Greg Alan Williams, Walton Goggins, James DuMont, Jody Hill, Troy Anthony Hogan, Valyn Hall, Steve Zahn, Stephen Dorffs, Shea Whigham, Kristen Johnston, Lukas Haas, Robert Oberst as Karl, Stephen Schneider, Iliza Shlesinger, Sturgill Simpson, and Casey Wilson.

As this truly biblical season comes to a close on Sunday night, I am delighted to announce that we are picking up a fourth season,” Amy Gravitt, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming, Head of HBO & Max Comedy Series, said.
McBride also directs and executive produces the series alongside Jody Hill and David Gordon Green.
John Carcieri, Jeff Fradley, and Brandon James are executive producers, while Jonathan Watson co-executive produces, and David Brightbill produces. Kevin Barnett, Edi Patterson, and Chris Pappas are consulting producers on The Righteous Gemstones.
