Preview — In the Final Season of Apple TV+’s Physical Sheila’s Dreams Are In Sight

All good things must come to an end — sometimes sooner than we expected. The third and final season of Apple TV+’s dark comedy Physical arrives this August and will be the show’s last, wrapping up Sheila Rubin’s gritty journey of rebellion, recovery, and (maybe?) redemption.
Physical Season 3 will see Sheila on the cusp of achieving everything she’s ever dreamed of.
She’s fought her way past the mega-critical voices in her head to establish her successful Body by Sheila exercise brand. She’s established a successful business with her BFF Greta, walked away from an unsatisfying marriage, and is doing her best to build a fitness empire. But she’s not the only game in town anymore.
The big news heading into Season 3 is that New Girl’s Zooey Deschanel is joining the cast as Sheila’s new rival, Kelly Kilmartin, a rising star in the home fitness and aerobics space. How will Kelly’s success impact Sheila’s ongoing recovery? Is there room for them both in their competitive industry?
And what does the future hold for Sheila in the romantic department? Is she destined to find her way back to Danny? Or will she try to turn her toxic bond with John Breem into something real? We’ll have to wait and see.

Series description: Set in the idyllic but fragile beach paradise of 1980s San Diego, the series follows Sheila Rubin as she transforms from quietly tortured housewife to dominant fitness entrepreneur. In her journey, Sheila battled her way out of an unsatisfying marriage to Danny, fostered a dangerous relationship with real-estate mogul John Breem, and confronted the dark voices within her own mind that have shamed and suppressed her for so long. With the help of her loyal friend — and now business partner — Greta, Sheila has found confidence and inner strength through her work as a teacher and entrepreneur with Body by Sheila.
In the third and concluding season of the series, Sheila finds her status challenged by rising celebrity exercise goddess Kelly Kilmartin, who becomes not only a professional threat but manages to get in her head. Will Sheila prevail, or will Kelly’s presence in her life undermine the hard-earned healing and stability that Sheila has worked fought so hard for?
