Somebody Somewhere Renewed for Season 3 by HBO
Somebody Somewhere isn’t going anywhere.
Just days after the Season 2 finale, HBO announced it had renewed the critically acclaimed series for a third season.
The series is a slice-of-life comedy that stars Bridget Everett, who is also an executive producer, as Sam, a woman living in a small Kansas town struggling with the loss of her beloved older sister.

Somebody Somewhere is about finding your voice and your people — sometimes where you least expect it. The HBO series explores big themes like grief, vulnerability, and the complexity of family with nuance and compassion.
On Season 2, Sam navigates caring for her ailing and difficult mother while still grieving the loss of her sister. There are also revelations about her sister and changes to her relationship with best friend Joel (Jeff Hiller) that threaten to send Sam spiraling.
As the Season 2 logline describes, Somebody Somewhere‘s second season “reminds us that families are hard, even the fun ones.”
In addition to Everett and Hiller, the cast includes Mary Catherine Garrison, Murray Hill, Jane Brody, Tim Bagley, and Barbara Robertson.

The series has a 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with The Daily Beast saying Somebody Somewhere is “TV’s sweetest slice of life” with “performances that will break your heart and heal it all over again.”
“We’re thrilled to announce the third season of the honest and impactful Somebody Somewhere,” said Amy Gravitt, Executive Vice President of HBO and Max Comedy Programming.
“Nothing makes us smile quite like this show, which never fails to remind us that life is made up of the small moments, that family can be chosen, and that dreams don’t have deadlines,” she continued.
Somebody Somewhere was co-created & executive produced by Hannah Bos & Paul Thureen. Hannah Bos, Paul Thureen, Bridget Everett, Rachel Axler, and Lisa Kron write the show, with Jay Duplass, Robert Cohen, and Lennon Parham directing.
