Yellowstone: Wendy Moniz Discusses the ‘Complicated’ Dynamic Between John and Lynelle [Interview]
One of the most interesting relationships on Yellowstone is the one between Kevin Costner’s John Dutton and Wendy Moniz’s Lynelle Perry.
During PaleyFest, we caught up with Wendy Moniz to discuss the dynamic between those two characters and to talk about the series overall.
“I’m proud to be part of something that’s so beautifully done. And the fact that people noticed and embraced it and are appreciative of it — it’s the best,” Moniz began.

As for the relationship between John and Lynelle, Moniz described why it’s such an interesting dynamic to play.
“It’s a complicated kind of situation and it’s really fun to play and to get the scripts and read and see what’s happening,” Moniz said.
“The dynamic between them is they’re kind of, you know, they really care about each other deeply they have a lot of history together but they also have to work together and they’re not always in agreement with each other. But somehow they’ve managed to balance it and not hate each other. They still are together in many ways.”

While Moniz wasn’t able to offer any hints about what’s to come in the second half of Season 5, she does assume that the impending impeaching is going to make things even more complicated for the both of them.
“I’m sure, with the impeachment coming, the stakes are a lot higher,” Moniz said. “And it’s going to be a really even trickier thing for Lynelle to navigate.”
