True Lies Season 1 Episode 7, “Independent Dependents,”  stumbles into an uncomfortable father-son dynamic when Gib’s estranged father, Al, joins the team.

Much of Gib’s persona is still an anomaly to viewers, so it is about time Harry’s trusted teammate got the backstory treatment.

The Omega logistics specialist is not historically a fan of families, a fact he reminds Harry and Helen of every time the Taskers complain about their double lives. So could Gib’s indifference to settling down stem from his daddy issues?

We shall see when the team is forced to endure the father-son duo’s wrath in close quarters as they race to rescue hostages from a weapons manufacturing plant.
