Welcome to a new week and another round of What to Watch on TV for the week of January 15th! This week is filled with emotional finales and some highly anticipated premieres.
This week we feature New Amsterdam, The Last of Us, Miracle Workers, and many more!

Critics Choice Awards – Sunday, January 15th
It’s officially award season, and the next one that should be on your watchlist is the one where the critics have a say in what movies and shows reign. Critics Choice Awards airs Sunday, January 15th at 7/6c on The CW.
Event Description: The 28th Critics’ Choice Awards will be presented on January 15, 2023, at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, California, honoring the finest achievements of filmmaking and television programming in 2022.
The Last of Us – Sunday, January 15th

Pedro Pascal leads this post-apocalyptic drama about two people thrown together in a quest for survival. Joel and Ellie travel across America together keeping each other alive. The Last of Us premieres Sunday, January 15th at 9/8c on HBO and HBO Max.
Series Description: Joel and Ellie, a pair connected through the harshness of the world they live in, are forced to endure brutal circumstances and ruthless killers on a trek across a post-outbreak America.
Mayor of Kingstown – Sunday, January 15th

This season is bound to be even more intense and violent than the last as the McLusky family continues to try and control the prison industry of their hometown. Mayor of Kingstown premieres Sunday, January 15th on Paramount+.
Season 2 Description: The second outing will focus on the McLusky family, led by Renner’s Mike, as they traverse the ins and outs of the criminal justice system, and often take the law into their own hands.
Miracle Workers – Monday, January 16th
The anthology series starring Daniel Radcliffe and Steve Buscemi has another outing with End Times. In this fourth installment, the actors try to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. Miracle Workers premieres Monday, January 16th at 10/9c on TBS.
Season Description: Daniel Radcliffe, Steve Buscemi, Geraldine Viswanathan, Karan Soni, and Jon Bass make their return to the top-rated anthology comedy series “Miracle Workers” for the fourth installment set in the post-apocalyptic future. “Miracle Workers: End Times” follows a wasteland warrior (Radcliffe) and ruthless warlord (Viswanathan) as they face the most dystopian nightmare of all: settling down in the suburbs. Together they navigate the existential horrors of married life and small-town living, all under the dubious guidance of a wealthy junk trader (Buscemi). Also starring Jon Bass as the couple’s faithful war dog, and Karan Soni as a kill-bot who loves to party.
The Price of Glee – Monday, January 16th
The much-talked-about Glee docu-series about the tragedy that befell some of the cast members has arrived. This Investigation Discovery three-part series will take a deeper look into the complicated lives of cast members. The Price of Glee airs Monday, January 16th at 9/8c on ID and Discovery+.
Docuseries Description: While celebrating the show’s indelible mark on pop culture and its unprecedented success, The Price of Glee takes a hard look at the intense pressure that results from being catapulted into superstardom and sheds new light on the terrible tragedies that befell the cast and crew of Glee.
Night Court – Tuesday, January 17th
Based on the old sitcom of the same name, Night Court follows Judge Abby Stone as she presides over the Manhattan arraignment court for the night shift. This two-episode premiere hopes to reinvent this already beloved 80s series in a more modern era. Night Court premieres Tuesday, January 17th at 8/7c on NBC.
Episode 1 Description: Judge Abby Stone follows in the footsteps of her late father Harry Stone as she takes over the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court; when a public defender is needed, Abby sees potential in former prosecutor Dan Fielding.
Episode 2 Description: Abby pushes Dan Fielding to embrace his new role as public defender; Neil gets on board with Abby’s quest to improve the courtroom and quickly realizes why trying is for the birds.
New Amsterdam – Tuesday, January 17th

The beloved NBC medical drama comes to an end with a 2-hour series finale. Fans have followed Max Goodwin and the other doctors at New Amsterdam hospital through all the ups and downs this hospital has faced over the years. It’ll be hard to say goodbye. New Amsterdam series finale airs Tuesday, January 17th at 9/8c on NBC.
Episode 12 Description: Max and Wilder face a dilemma over approvals for a revolutionary cancer drug as Max learns a secret about his own bout with cancer. Reynolds goes the extra mile to correct a dire medical situation. Iggy tries desperately to help a woman in need, but finds the system is working against him.
Episode 13 Description: In the series finale, everyone’s story reaches a surprising yet inevitable conclusion.
The Resident – Tuesday, January 17th
The doctors of Chastain are about to say goodbye to yet another season with the Season 6 finale. A heart finally arrives for Governor Betz’s transplant, and Conrad tries to get back to Gigi’s birthday celebrations. The Resident finale airs Tuesday, January 17th at 8/7c on FOX.
Episode Description: Conrad is pulled away from celebrating Gigi’s birthday when Sammie comes into Chastain with a 104-degree fever, and Kit must call in a favor for treatment; a heart arrives for Gov. Betz’s transplant surgery.
Home Economics – Wednesday, January 18th

When a natural disaster strikes all the Hayworths are left under one roof with no power. This leads them on a journey of self-examination. Home Economics finale airs Wednesday, January 18th at 9:30/8:30c on ABC.
Episode Description: A natural disaster strikes, trapping the family under one roof and without power. As their electronic battery lives are depleted, the Hayworths are left with nothing to do but examine their own lives on the season three finale.
Big Sky: Deadly Trails – Wednesday, January 18th
All things come to a fiery conclusion on the Season 3 finale. With Denise and Emily in harm’s way, Jenny and Beau work overtime to bring the Bleeding Heart Killer to justice. Big Sky: Deadly Trails season finale airs Wednesday, January 18th at 10/9c on ABC.
Episode Description: With Denise and Emily’s lives on the line, Jenny and Beau are determined to bring the Bleeding Heart Killer to justice; Sunny makes a fiery decision that will change her family forever.
That ’90s Show – Thursday, January 19th

It’s 1995 and our friendly gang from That ’70s Show are all grown up and have families of their own. Young Leia Forman travels to Wisconsin for a summer with her grandparents, Red and Kitty. That ’90s Show streams Thursday, January 19th on Netflix.
Series Description: In the summer of 1995, Leia Forman makes friends with a new generation of Point Place kids while visiting her grandparents, Red and Kitty, in Wisconsin.
The Legend of Vox Machina – Friday, January 20th
Vox Machina heroes are back for another exciting campaign with Season 2. They are going up against a group of dragons to save the world of Exandria. The Legend of Vox Machina premieres Friday, January 20th on Prime Video.
Season Description: Season 2 will follow the Chroma Conclave campaign from Critical Role’s popular Dungeons and Dragons web series. The heroes of Vox Machina will have to face a powerful group of dragons called the Chroma Conclave before they destroy the world of Exandria.
The Owl House – Saturday, January 21st
While Season 3 is a much shorter season than is usual for this show, it is allowing fans to get closure with Luz and her friends. In the second of three installments, Luz and her friends fight to save the Boiling Isles from Belos and the Collector. The Owl House airs Saturday, January 21st at 9/8c on Disney.
Episode Description: Luz and her friends race against Belos to confront the Collector and save the Boiling Isles.
