Preview — Star Trek: Picard Season 3 Reunites the Star Trek: The Next Generation Crew
Star Trek: Picard is set to embark on its final voyage this February, and the series’ third season looks like it will be its best yet, as the show finally gives fans what they’ve been longing for: A proper Star Trek: The Next Generation reunion.
Season 3 will see Patrick Stewart’s Jean-Luc Picard reunite with the bulk of The Next Generation’s original cast, including LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, and Brent Spiner.
Picard regulars Jeri Ryan and Michelle Hurd will also be part of this final season, following the departures of Allison Pill, Santiago Cabrera, Evan Evagora, and Isa Brones.
“I remember watching the premiere of Star Trek: The Next Generation almost 34 years ago with my father like it was yesterday. It was the spark that ignited my love for science fiction,” showrunner and executive producer Terry Matalas said in a statement when the final season was announced.
“So, it’s most fitting that the story of Jean-Luc Picard ends honoring the beginning, with his dearest and most loyal friends from the U.S.S. Enterprise. It would be an understatement to say that giving these characters a proper send-off is an honor. The entire Star Trek: Picard team and I can’t wait for fans to experience this final, high-stakes, starship-bound adventure in season three!”
