Abbott Elementary Renewed for Season 3 by ABC
Classes will stay in session at Abbott Elementary as ABC’s award-winning comedy has been renewed for a third season.
The exciting news about Abbott Elementary, which comes from Warner Bros. Television and 20th Television, comes the day after the show won three Golden Globes.

Abbott Elementary won Best Musical/Comedy Series, Quinta Brunson won Best Actress in a Musical/Comedy Series, and Tyler James Williams won Best Supporting Actor in a Musical/Comedy Series.
Janelle James and Sheryl Lee Ralph were also nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical/Comedy Series.
The show makes waves beyond the award circuit, too. As previously reported, Abbott Elementary teamed up with Scholastic to provide underfunded schools with free book fairs.
Additionally, the show’s ratings only continue to improve. Per ABC, the show “delivers a 3.58 rating in Adults 18-49 after 35 days of viewing across platforms, growing 31% over its prior season and ranking as ABC’s No. 1 series this season.”

Abbott Elementary, currently airing its second season, “averages 9.1 million Total Viewers in its second season after 35 days of cross-platform viewing, marking an increase of 13% over last season.”
Craig Erwich, president, ABC Entertainment, Hulu & Disney Branded Television Streaming Originals, announced Abbott Elementary‘s renewal yesterday at the Winter Television Critics Association Press Tour.
New episodes of the sitcom air Wednesdays at 9/8c on ABC. The next episode will be Abbott Elementary Season 2 Episode 13, “Fundraiser,” airing on January 18.

The episode’s description is as follows:
Barbara organizes a candy-selling fundraiser to raise money for a school field trip to the science museum. When sales don’t go as planned, Ava steps in to teach the students new, unconventional selling tactics. Elsewhere, Mr. Johnson and Jacob butt heads about how to take care of a cat found in the janitor’s closet.
Abbott Elementary was created by Quinta Brunson, who stars as Janine Teagues. Brunson also serves as an executive producer alongside Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker of Delicious Non-Sequitur Productions, and Randall Einhorn.
The sitcom’s cast includes Tyler James Williams as Gregory Eddie, Janelle James as Ava Coleman, Lisa Ann Walter as Melissa Schemmenti, Chris Perfetti as Jacob Hill, William Stanford Davis as Mr. Johnson, and Emmy® Award winner Sheryl Lee Ralph as Barbara Howard.
