When Does ‘The Winchesters’ Return From Hiatus?
The Winchesters has its winter premiere on January 24, 2023. When The CW series returns it will also start airing at a new time. Instead of the usual 8:00 pm EST, it will now air at 9:00 pm EST.
This gives fans a little more time to make it home to watch the show.
The series kicks off the second half of Season 1 with The Winchesters Season 1 Episode 8, “Hang on to Your Life.” On the midseason finale, Mary and Samuel have that long-overdue reunion.
However, the father-daughter duo cannot just catch up on old times as the Akrida continue moving forward with their plan.
The show’s return should also open the door for the next chapter for John and Mary, as they finally share their first kiss in “Reflections.” Part of the first half of the season revolves around the romantic tension between them. Now that more kissing is a possibility, we’ll have to see if they can go back to just being friends.
The group knows a little more about the Akrida and their plan but that doesn’t mean that we’ll see any fewer monsters of the week.
With only a 13-episode Winchesters Season 1, the show needs to pace itself to get to the inevitable season finale battle. It needs more monsters and complications to keep things exciting.
Samuel should be an interesting new element of the series. Mary and he have a lot they need to work through, but the danger of the Akrida may make things complicated.
Hopefully, the second half of The Winchesters Season 1 brings the return of some characters we already met in the first half of the season and maybe a few Supernatural favorites.
