Lopez vs. Lopez Gets Full-Season Order at NBC
The father/daughter feud will continue as Lopez vs. Lopez receives a full-season order at NBC.
The network gives the comedy series an additional 9 episodes, bringing Season 1 to a total of 22 episodes.
Lopez vs. Lopez brings George Lopez back to primetime TV, but this time he brings his real-life daughter, Mayan, with him.
The series is described as a “hilarious and heartwarming comedy” that “tells the story of a working-class old-school Latino who moves in with his modern Gen Z daughter as they rebuild their dysfunctional relationship one argument at a time. It’s old vs. new, father vs. daughter, Lopez vs Lopez.”
The series is deemed the #1 NBC comedy to launch on Peacock and has the strongest English-dominant Hispanic index among the major four broadcast networks.
NBC notes that Lopez vs. Lopez‘s pilot episode is up to a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demo and 7.6 million viewers on linear and digital viewing.
Lopez vs. Lopez‘s cast includes George Lopez, Mayan Lopez, Selenis Leyva, Brice Gonzalez, Matt Shively, and Al Madrigal.
The series’ upcoming Christmas episode will see George Lopez reunite with costars from the ABC sitcom George Lopez, which aired for six seasons from 2002 to 2007.
TV Line’s report shares that Lopez will reunite on-screen with Constance Marie (who played George’s wife Angie), Valente Rodriguez (Ernie), Luis Armand Garcia (Max), and Belita Moreno (Benny).
However, the Lopez vs. Lopez episode will not include George Lopez‘s Masiela Lusha (who played George and Angie’s daughter Carmen), Aimee Garcia (aka Veronica), and Emiliano Díez (Angie’s father, Vic).
The George Lopez reunion will take place in Lopez Vs. Lopez Season 1 Episode 6, “Lopez vs. Christmas,” which airs Friday, Dec. 16 at 8/7c on NBC.
