The Cleaning Lady Season 2 Episode 3 Review: El Diablo Que Conoces

Reviews, The Cleaning Lady

On The Cleaning Lady Season 2 Episode 3, El Diablo Que Conoces, Thony once again rides off into the sunset on her high horse, as Fiona takes a hit.

Plus, in case anyone doubted it, Robert remains the most intense and attractive person on the show.

Thony is a fantastic character, but so much of her is built off of the need to keep her a “good” person.

While she’s not what I would necessarily call a bad person, she has assisted in the assault and murder of more than one person now.

Thony thinks she’s so much better than Arman, and especially Nadia because Thony is convinced she works “honestly” for her money, which factually, is not true.

She’s always been selfless and caring, but this side of Thony that won’t let up on Nadia is getting old, and it’s giving her a bad look.

Luca, Luca, Luca

Perhaps I’m heartless for saying so, but watching Luca get sick again really doesn’t tick up my anxiety like it used to.

The Cleaning Lady Season 1 always made sure you were on edge because you never knew if the show would turn dark and possibly kill Luca.

Now, though, especially with Luca’s dad gone, there’s a pretty good chance Luca is going to live. This means that each time he’s in terrible peril, the fear that used to be there isn’t present anymore, which makes the episode seem that much longer.

Fiona De La Rosa: Pro-Murder

Fiona has been through a lot recently, so it makes sense that she’s changing and growing.

What doesn’t make sense is Fiona being ignorant. Fiona knows how dangerous it is to deal with actual criminals, much less a shady motel owner who just wants money.

Even if Fiona is coming into her own as being fully independent of Thony — which, it’s about time — I would have expected her to be smarter about it.

It’s great that Thony and Fiona finally quit their terrible jobs — it really is. But we aren’t given a single second of resolution for that particular issue.

While Thony shouldn’t be reduced to the cleaning lady, the show is called The Cleaning Lady. Thony is working very closely with a crooked FBI agent, a criminal, and his wife, and she thinks opening a business of her own is a good idea.

Maybe Robert needs a new cleaning lady. He’s evil, but he’s profitable. Arman should be able to see that.

Stray Thoughts
  • Let Nadia watch football and relax! Give me an entire episode on Nadia’s backstory and then her getting out of this hellish relationship with Arman.
  • Garrett is the dumbest FBI agent I have ever seen. And I’ve seen The X-Files.
  • Robert and Arman in business together would be dicey because neither of them can be trusted, but man, it’d be a lot more interesting than Arman and Hayak.
