Chicago Med Season 8 Episode 3, “Winning the Battle, but Still Losing the War,” has a lot to live up to, following the first two episodes of the season.
As the Gaffney family continues to grow, there is sure to be a clash of personalities between the new up-and-coming residents who are out to prove themselves.

Kai and Zach are two opposites of the same coin. It will be interesting to see how their vastly different approaches to learning continue to evolve. It looks like they will get some time together.
Additionally, it appears that Crockett and Ethan are completely in teaching mode. With their respective years of experience, they’d presumably be excellent teachers. Hopefully they won’t let their egos get in the way.
Dr. Charles is also back in mentorship mode, which is always great to see. Even when he doesn’t agree with his mentees, he is a valuable resource in teaching them how best to relate to their patients.
Ethan’s long hair makes him look like he’s still on vacation mode. It’s not that it’s not a great look and it’s not that his character doesn’t deserve it. However, can Vacation Ethan keep it together to lead the chaos of the ED?
Chicago Med Season 3 is just getting started, and there’s no slowing it down. The show can’t go wrong with going back to basics, which this episode may feature.
