Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 3 Episode 3 Review: Catch Me If You Can
Just when we think we have some answers, Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 3 Episode 3, “Catch Me If You Can” is right there to remind us this is a marathon, not a sprint.
Just as we seem to make some headway on the death of Henry Cole, more mysteries crop up. The answers are there but they remain just out of reach.
First and foremost, this team is already feeling the pain, and the case has just started. We are in for a long, arduous season ahead at this rate.
Stabler’s Temper

Since the premiere of Law & Order: SVU Stabler has been known to be a hot head — especially if cop injuries are involved. With Kenny on the run and frivolously shooting his gun off whenever he feels threatened, Stabler’s emotional short stick is taking a hit.
We especially see Stabler lose it in the final moments when it is announced that the officer shot by Kenny has died. But, let’s back up a bit first.
Stabler is barely holding it together the whole episode. Something about this case has him on edge more than usual.

I can’t decide if it’s because Henry was a beloved man, or if there are things about each step of this investigation that keep triggering him. After all, the cop who is shot at the start of the episode is a father of 5 with years on the job — sound familiar?
Something about Kenny is unsettling to Stabler and now that he’s been caught I wonder how far Stabler will go to get information out of him. He has already surmised that Kenny isn’t pulling the strings — obviously — but how much will Stabler have to lose himself to get the hard evidence they need?
While we all love Stabler, he’s been slowly on the decline since Kathy’s murder, and then last season he went through all that double-life trauma. He definitely has some residual PTSD, I just wish he’d let his guard down and talk to a therapist — even the strongest need help, Elliot.
Bell’s Grace Under Fire

Hands down, Bell and Jet are the true heroes of this team. Bell is the leader for a reason — she knows what she is doing no matter the stakes.
Too bad she can’t apply that cool and collected nature to her own personal life.
For all of Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 3 Episode 3, “Catch Me If You Can,” Bell works with Jet to try and stay one step ahead of Kenny. It’s their combined knowledge and logic that ultimately leads to Kenny’s arrest.
There aren’t many cops who would approach an armed man holding a child and proceed to handcuff themselves to the nearest table. Bell does, and it’s because she knows exactly how to react to Kenny to get him to let his guard down and trust her.

If Reyes had tried to take the lead instead of staying behind the tree Kenny wouldn’t be alive right now. Or he would still be on the run with Reyes dead instead.
Either way, Bell’s cool head is exactly what this particular capture needs. Often, OCU can get away with using Stabler’s brawn over Bell’s brain but not today.
It’s fantastic to see the females of this team take the lead for once. They rarely get time to show off their very strong assets and it makes this episode as enjoyable as it is.
Stray Thoughts:
- Baby Silas, as I like to call him, is very terrifying. This is going to be a fun takedown.
- Bell needs to work harder at being a wife and mom — she doesn’t have to always be on the job.
