Greg Germann to Return to ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ as Tom Koracick in November
Grey’s Anatomy‘s most lovable jerk Dr. Tom Koracick is returning this November.
TV Line reports that on the November 3 episode, Tom contacts Catherine about a personal matter. This episode also features the return of Jesse Williams’ Dr. Jackson Avery.
On Tuesday, Variety reported that Williams would direct and guest star on Grey’s Anatomy Season 19 Episode 5, “When I Get to the Border,” which features Meredith on a trip to Boston where she reunites with Jackson.

Unfortunately for Japril shippers, this episode will not feature Sarah Drew as Dr. April Kepner.
Don’t forget; they share a kiss, confirming their relationship, on Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 Episode 20, “You Are the Blood.” So let’s hope for another guest spot soon!
Alternatively, “When I Get to the Border” features Kate Walsh as Dr. Addison Montgomery as she goes on a road trip with Bailey to volunteer at a family planning center, which inevitably leads to obstacles.
Walsh’s return during Season 18 and now Season 19 adds to the delightful revamp the series is going for, including its new class of surgical interns. Grey’s Anatomy Season 19 finds refreshing and fun ways to narratively play with new and old faces.

For a quick refresher, Koracick left Seattle to join Jackson in Boston after beating COVID during Grey’s Anatomy Season 17.
Koracick wanted to help others after receiving his second chance at life. So, now, he helps run the Catherine Fox Foundation. After losing Teddy to Owen, leaving Seattle was healing for his heartbreak — he needed a fresh start.
Greg Germann also returned as Tom Koracick on Season 18 to assist Meredith and Amelia with their Alzheimer’s work in Minnesota due to his exemplary work as a neurosurgeon.
Since Koracick seemingly annoys everyone, Grey’s Anatomy revealed his tense history with Peter Gallagher’s Dr. David Hamilton during this story arc.

TV Insider reiterates that Koracick’s return includes him reaching out to “Catherine (who is in Boston) regarding a personal matter.”
This news doubles down on Variety’s report that Grey’s Anatomy‘s trip to Boston will include Debbie Allen’s reprisal of her role as Catherine Avery.
The details leave plenty of room for speculation on how or if Meredith and Tom’s paths will cross while she’s in Boston.
