Quantum Leap, NBC’s reboot/continuation of the beloved original series starring Scott Bakula, makes its debut with Quantum Leap Season 1 Episode 1, ” July 13, 1985.”
The series, which Martin Gero is helming, is a bit like “Quantum Leap: The Next Generation.”

It takes place 30 years after Sam Beckett, Bakula’s character in the original, disappeared into the Quantum Leap accelerator. Now, a new team led by Ben Song has been assembled to restart Beckett’s work.
History repeats itself, though, when Ben makes an unauthorized trip and gets stranded just like his predecessor. On the pilot, Ben is stuck in 1985 and, worse, suffering from memory loss.
Ben isn’t alone, though. Filling the role of Al this time around is Addison. Addison is a decorated Army veteran who had a personal relationship with Ben before his jump.
That romantic tension will definitely make for a different relationship than Al had with Sam. It will also no doubt be the source of a lot of the series drama. Get ready for a bit of angst with your time travel adventure.
As with Al in the original, Addison can only communicate with Ben as a hologram. Still, she is his only line of communication with his team and his own time.
History has repeated itself once, but will Ben’s team have better luck bringing him home than Sam’s?
