Chicago Med Season 8 Episode 1, “How Do You Begin to Count the Losses,” comes in with a bang.
It doesn’t look like the show will waste any time dialing up the drama. The fire at the Halstead apartment clearly isn’t done causing chaos. The doctors and nurses of Gaffney Chicago Medical Center will have to come together like never before.
Dr. Hannah Asher, who made her triumphant return last season, looks like she’ll be up against the ropes immediately. This character has already been through so much. Her journey is clearly just beginning.
It wouldn’t be Chicago Med without the introduction of some new hotshot doctor. Let’s see how well Cuevas can handle the heat.
Of course, we’ll be seeing old familiar faces. Dr. Charles is the definition of Old Faithful, and he can always be counted on to hold this little work family together. Seriously, where would One Chicago be without Oliver Platt?
On the season premiere of Chicago Med, there is sure to be plenty of drama, emergencies, probably romance, and just enough ethical conundrums to keep everyone guessing.

Episode Description: In the aftermath of Halstead’s apartment fire, Marcel, Choi, and Archer work together to try to save the survivors; Charles and Med’s new fellow, Cuevas, helps a paranoid patient; Scott makes a life-changing decision.
