News

Move over, Jack Pearson! Milo Ventimiglia is in his spy era as ABC orders The Company You Keep to series.

Ventimiglia not only stars in the hourlong series but serves as an executive producer. The series is produced by 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios.

TV Line describes Ventimiglia’s Charlie “as a crook with an unlikely romantic prospect.” That romantic history manifests through a complicated relationship with the CIA agent Emma, played by Good Trouble‘s Catherine Haena Kim.

According to Deadline’s report, The Company You Keep “was the last remaining “second cycle” pilot to learn its fate, but was a consistent frontrunner and a move to a series pickup always looked promising.”

The Company You Keep is based on the Korean format My Fellow Citizens. Julia Cohen and Phil Klemmer serve as executive producers and co-showrunners on the ABC series.

Alongside Lara Azzopardi, Cohen is also one of the showrunners and executive producers of HBO Max’s Degrassi revival, set to debut in 2023. According to Variety, the new series is meant to shoot in Toronto during the summer of this year.
