Criminal Minds Revival Series Heading to Paramount+
In February 2020, we had to say goodbye to Criminal Minds as Season 15 brought the show to an end. Luckily, Paramount+ has ordered a Criminal Minds revival with a 10-episode order, according to TVLine.
Back when Criminal Minds ended, we were sure we had seen the last of our favorite characters. However, in February 2021 Paramount+ announced a show revival with some of the memorable characters we had come to love throughout the seasons.

As fans waited to hear more, Paget Brewster — known for her role as Emily Prentiss — mentioned on social media that she believed the show was dead before it even started.
“No, and sadly, we think it’s dead. I’ll let you know if there is any progress but it seems unlikely. Which is a bummer.”
This tweet was a bummer for the fandom and killed all hope for a revival. Lucky for all of us who wanted to see more of the show, the hope came back to life in January 2022.
Tanya Giles, Chief Programming Officer at ViacomCBS Streaming, was responsible for this newfound happiness during the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour. “We are still very much in development on Criminal Minds. We’ll have more to share soon on that, but it is alive and well.”
Still, there was no confirmation beyond the press tour.

Then, earlier this week, Joe Mantegna — known as Agent David Rossi — tweeted a picture about a special inspection using the hashtag #CriminalMinds. Once again, the hope is alive.
As of right now, no Paramount+ representatives have spoken on the matter, but the 10-episode series has reportedly been ordered. Rossi and Prentiss are set to come back, but we are all wondering who else will join them next.

Although Criminal Minds Season 15 tried to give us an ending, there were still loose threads. Not every character got closure, and we were left wanting more.
Penelope Garcia was one of those characters we all loved and wanted to see have a happy ending. In the end, there were glimpses of her relationship with Luke Alvez, but not enough to keep us happy. Maybe this will be explored in the revival.
Rossi remarried one of his ex-wives, bringing closure to his short-lived relationship with Erin Strauss, which was mentioned after her death. Will we see the married couple in the new series? Will he finally succeed at marriage?

It is always hard to say goodbye to our favorite characters, but Criminal Minds did its best as giving us an ending. Some fans believe it could have been better, so maybe this revival is their second chance at giving us a series finale.
