If the DamFam was promised drama in the first half of a doubleheader, New Amsterdam Season 4 Episode 20, “Rise,” promises to bring everything to a boiling point.
If this is the beginning of the end for Veronica Fuentes (Michelle Forbes), the show will be better for it. It’s just too bad patients are going to have to suffer for her to finally be at the end of her time here. Are fans in for an official resignation with this episode?

It looks like Elizabeth (Sandra Mae Frank) will be back this episode, swooping in to make an epic save. She and Floyd (Jocko Sims) are going to try, anyway. If anyone can handle it, it’s these two.
This episode also sets up some more Lauren (Janet Montgomery) and Leyla (Shiva Kalaiselvan) content. These two have always deserved better than the chaos they’ve been dealing with. Hopefully, they’re getting to a place where they can have the healthiest relationship possible.
If that’s not possible, hopefully they can have a healthy break-up, as heartbreaking as that would be. The passing money back and forth in a paper bag is not a good look.
It also looks like Lauren and Casey (Alejandro Hernandez) are back together as friends. This friendship is so incredibly endearing. Honestly, it’s been one of the grounding relationships in New Amsterdam.
As New Amsterdam‘s season finale rapidly approaches, there’s no sign that anyone is slowing down. It’s sure to be a wild ride!
