Preview — The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey Episodes 1-2: Reggie & Robyn

Apple TV+’s new series The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey will hit screens with the two-episode premiere of The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey Season 1 Episode 1, “Reggie,” and The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey Season 1 Episode 2, “Robyn.”

The series, based on the book of the same name by Walter Mosley — who is also an executive producer and adapted the book for the screen — is a 6 part limited series.

It centers on Ptolemy Grey, an elderly man dealing with the increasingly devastating impact of dementia. With only his great-nephew, Reggie, to look after him Ptolemy is increasingly isolated in his small barely livable apartment.

After he is suddenly left without his nephew to take care of him, Ptolemy’s niece assigns Robyn, the daughter of a family friend to look after him.

When Ptolemy is offered a treatment that promises to restore his memories, he and Robyn begin a journey that will reveal truths about the past and present and change both of their futures.

The series stars Samuel L. Jackson as Ptolemy and Judas and the Black Messiah’s Dominique Fishback as Robyn. Jackson also serves as an executive producer for the show.

Robyn description: Kicked out by Niecie, Robyn moves in with Ptolemy and accompanies him to a doctor’s appointment for an experimental treatment
