Griff makes his return to the OR for the first time since the shooting on Good Sam Season 1 Episode 7, “Chronic Insult.”

If we can piece the promo video and photos together, it seems like Caleb may have to step in for Griff when things get to be a little too much during the bypass.

Alternatively, it would be nice to see Isan step up to the plate after his most recent surgery didn’t end well. If Griff needs more time to heal, maybe this bypass could be a way for Isan to become more comfortable in the OR again.

It looks as though Sam and Lex could come together long enough to check on Griff, and honestly, maybe that’s for the best. We don’t like it when those best friends fight.

As unlikely as it may seem to them, maybe their respective love for Griff could be the thing that brings Sam and Lex together to genuinely discuss what went wrong between them. There needs to be more open and honest discussion between all three of them.

Then again, how Griff does or doesn’t perform may be the least of Sam’s worries because Malcolm’s mom, Tina Kingsley, arrives in town during this episode.

Sam’s call to her during Good Sam Season 1 Episode 6, “Truce,” is probably the thing that brings Tina back to Lakeshore, but hopefully, she stays long enough for the show to unpack Malcolm as an individual a bit more.

Episode description: Dr. Sam Griffith deals with the fallout following her actions at the hospital fundraising gala, and Griff returns to the OR for the first time since his shooting to perform a bypass surgery. Also, Malcolm’s estranged mother, hospital board chairwoman Tina Kingsley (Victoria Rowell), arrives in town.
