Good Sam Season 1 Episode 5, “Wake Up,” flashes back to when everything changed for Sam, Griff, and everyone else at Lakeshore Sentinel Hospital.
A gunshot victim who is rushed to the ER triggers flashbacks to the aftermath of the shooting that nearly fatally injured Griff.
Relationships changed, dynamics evolved, and tensions rose at that moment and in the six months that followed. Now, “Wake Up” will fill in the blanks the flash-forward in Good Sam Season 1 Episode 1, “Pilot,” created.
Hopefully, “Wake Up” will take the characters further than that, too. This episode will surely add layers to Sam and Griff’s past, but it also needs to add them to their future.
Similarly, Good Sam can’t keep teasing this “good thing” Griff and Lex happened to have before the accident without letting us believe Griff is someone capable of that kind of fondness.
“Wake Up” could be a game-changer for every character on Good Sam. It could be the thing they need to confront their figurative and literal obstacles, sending the rest of the season in a new direction.
