Welcome to a new week and another round of What to Watch on TV for the week of October 3rd! We’ll be sharing our picks for what to watch this week, from marathons to big guest spots, and significant episodes of TV to look forward to while stuck inside.

This week’s picks include On My Block’s final wild ride, Ted Lasso’s finale, Nancy Drew’s return, and more.

Sunday, October 3

The Masterpiece series returns with a new season and finds Will and Geordie dealing with their summer holiday cut short in the face of a suspicious murder. Grantchester returns Sunday, October 3 at 9/8c on PBS.

Episode Description: A much-needed summer break at a vacation resort takes an unexpected turn for Will and Geordie when the camp owner is found dead in suspicious circumstances.

Monday, October 4

On My Block Season 4 (Netflix)

The final season picks up two years after the Season 3 finale and everyone’s gone their separate ways. But when a long-hidden secret puts everyone in danger, they find strength in numbers. On My Block: Season 4 drops Monday, October 4 on Netflix.

Season Description: On My Block is a coming-of-age comedy about a group of bright and street-savvy friends navigating their way through high-school in the rough inner city. Season 4 finds our friends two years later, having gone their separate ways. When a secret is unburied, they quickly learn you can’t run from the past and they will need to stick together to survive.

Good Grief (12/11c on IFC)

Series Description: Good Grief is a comedy set in small town NZ about two sisters who inherit a funeral home. By staring death in the face every day, Ellie and Gwen Goode begin to confront the realities of their own life, and what they want to make of it.

American Masters: Rita Moreno: A Girl Who Just Decided to Go for It airs Tuesday, October 5 at 9/8c on PBS.

Movie Description: Discover how Moreno defied her humble upbringing and racism to become one of a select group of Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award winners. Explore her 70-year career with new interviews, clips of her iconic roles and scenes of the star on set today.

Escape the Undertaker (Netflix)

Movie Description: In this interactive film featuring WWE Superstars, The Undertaker has set a trap for the decorated tag team The New Day at his mansion. What they don’t know: The Undertaker’s mansion is an extreme Haunted House, packed to the brim with supernatural challenges. It’s up to viewers to decide the fate of these three poor souls trying to survive the wrath of The Undertaker.

Dave Chappelle: The Closer (Netflix)

Special Description: It’s the Sixth Chapter. A new special from the comedic giant.

New Amsterdam (10/9c on NBC)

Episode Description: Max advises a young student at a science fair but encounters legal complications with her brilliant invention; Bloom encourages Dr. Shinwari to be more aggressive in the ED; Iggy gets a lesson in humility; Brantley has a surprise for the staff.

The horror anthology film is back and ready to keep viewers on their toes with new horrifying tales, scares, and gore as a cult takes center stage. V/H/S/94 drops Wednesday, October 6 on Shudder.

There’s Someone Inside Your House (Netflix)

CSI: Vegas (10/9c on CBS)

For the YA thriller fans out there, Peacock’s latest streaming debut will be right up your alley. Adapted from the Karen M. McManus novel by the same name, the story follows five teenagers trapped in detention when one of the five is murdered. One Of Us is Lying debuts Thursday, October 7 on Peacock.

Series Description: Based on Karen M. McManus’s #1 New York Times best-selling novel, One of Us is Lying is the story of what happens when five high schoolers walk into detention and only four make it out alive. Everyone is a suspect, and everyone has something to hide.

15 Minutes of Shame (HBO Max)

  • This is definitely one of the more honest recaps I’ve seen of this particular Episode (15) and agree 100% with everything that was stated. I stayed at some of the same things on several forums flash social media sites and was lambasted for what I stated.
