Turner & Hooch Review: Bite Club (Season 1 Episode 12)
Scott’s two worlds collide on Turner & Hooch Season 1 Episode 12, “Bite Club,” when Laura and Jessica organize groups to rescue him. It’s a lot of fun seeing Laura and the Cypress beach crew interact with Erica and Xavier. We get to see some new dynamics
After Scott’s rescued, everyone working together ends up giving the hour some Scooby-Doo/meddling kids vibes, especially as Laura is the one to drive off with all the dogs while Walton looks on angrily before going after her.
It is a fun tone for the episode to take on, and it works because it strikes the perfect balance between serious and light-hearted, which is where Turner & Hooch excels.

Prior to Scott’s rescue, there’s a good bit of thrill and suspense happening. Turner & Hooch proves that it can be serious when the situation calls for it. Yes, we also get the sweet and funny moments of Scott bonding with Nuke and revealing his whole life/dog story, but there are multiple times when it really doesn’t look good for Scott.
All in all, this is a thrilling and extremely rewarding conclusion to Laura and Scott’s investigation into their dad’s final case that we have been following along with all season. It couldn’t have been a better finale. Do you agree?
Turner & Hooch also starts to slowly set things up for a potential second season. I’ve praised the show’s ensemble in previous reviews, and Turner & Hooch is preparing to bring some people a little more into the fold.

Laura taking a position at Erica’s training facility is a fantastic way to have her start interacting more with Scott and other Deputy Marshals. Then, Dixon showing up during the hour is further proof to my theory that he’ll end up assisting on a case or two in the future.
Basically, Turner & Hooch is taking their already stellar ensemble and kicking it up a notch, and I’m here for it.
The show has given us some great characters, relationships to get invested in, lovable puppies, and there’s also some cases along the way. The cases have been hit or miss, but the characters have been the selling point of the show… also Hooch and Angel.
So, please give us a second season, Disney+. We need to see Scott and Erica have more rom-com worthy moments, along with some awkward ones, as they start to date. Let’s hope it doesn’t take Scott too much longer to ask her out.

Stray Thoughts
- Laura working with Hooch is amazing and very different than how Scott works with him.
- “It’s like a hiccup for people who feel bad.”
- Look at Scott, befriending another dog while working. He’s come a long way.
- I need to see more of Erica and Xavier.
- Did anyone else get emotional when Xavier referred to Scott as his partner?
